Disclosure: I’m a proud affiliate for some of the products mentioned in this post. If you buy a product through my links on this post, I may get a small commission for referring you. Thanks!

Door sweeps are very effective at keeping the sound out, and they are quite easy to install.

In this post, I’m going to reveal the best products and an installation guide to help you install the door sweeps.

They are really not difficult to install, and they are almost self-explanatory.
However, I will post the installation guide anyway just in case there are people who are confused on how to install it.

I will also reveal the best type of door sweeps, so that way you know what’s the best option for you.

You don’t want to go spending money on something that won’t work correctly for you, so I’m going to do all of the research and I’m going to be linking out the best type of door sweeps that you can use to keep the sound from coming in from your door.

Door sweeps are similar to weather stripping, but they go on the bottom of your door instead of on the sides of your door.

Door sweeps won’t work for your window, they will only work for your door because they go on the bottom of your door.

Door sweeps are also easier to install than weather stripping believe it or not.
With that being said, here are the best type of products down below.

Best Products
Door draft stopper

Door draft stopper are great for soundproofing your door, and they are fairly easy to install.

They are not only great for soundproofing, but they are also great to keep other stuff out. This product is best used for the outside door to keep the rain, snow, dirt, leaves, bugs, and other stuff out of your home.

I recommend this product for outside doors, but they can also be used for the inside as well, and they will work just as good at reducing sound on the inside.

There are more types of door sweeps down the list, so if you feel this won’t work for you, you can always pick something else.

It doesn’t hurt to test certain things out either, because you never know what you like and don’t like unless you try them.

With that being said, door draft stoppers are great for reducing sound, and keeping other things from coming in your door.

Door bottom sweep

This product is really good for soundproofing and is also great for outside doors. This type of door sweep has a brush that can withstand temperatures all the way to negative forty below zero until the brushes stiff up.

These door bottom sweeps reduce sound of course, and they also reduce what comes inside the house.

You can also use this product for the inside of your house, and it will work to reduce the sound coming from the other room.

Remember, it doesn’t hurt to test things out, so I recommend testing this out because you may or may not like it.

You also don’t have to worry about this door sweep scratching the floor, since the brush on the bottom of the door sweep acts like a broom, and will actually help the dirt out of the other room.

Frost king brush door sweep

This is pretty much the same things as the door bottom sweep. The only difference between the two is it’s wider, so it can be used for wider doors.

It helps to reduce sound, keep things from coming in the house, and clean up the dirt before if enters the other room by sweeping it out of the way.

You can choose either one you want, it won’t make a difference if you choose the frost king brush door sweep, or the door bottom sweep.

Pest control door sweep

This is a really cool door sweep because not only does it keep the sound out of the other room, but it also keeps pest from entering the other room as well.

It will keep pest like spiders from entering the room if you install this type of door sweep. It will also keep other things from entering the room as well.

This product is a little bit more expensive than the other products that I mentioned above, but it’s more expensive because it’s higher quality, and it does more than keep the sound from entering the room.
Installation Guide

1. Measure the door where the door sweep is going to be installed

This is the first step you need to do before you install your door sweep.
Measuring the door sweep is very important, and if you don’t measure it, then you risk the door sweep being too long or two short.

If the door sweep happens to be too long though, you could simply cut the part off where it goes beyond your door, but if you can; make sure to get it at the exact size of your door, or a little bit shorter than your door.

Cutting the door sweep can be a real pain, and you risk damaging the door sweep if you do cut it so I recommend you don’t cut the door sweep if you don’t want to risk damaging it.

You can either measure the door with a tape measure or a yard stick, and depending on how big your door is, it really won’t matter what you use.

After your finished measuring the door sweep. Find the exact size, or shorter.
There’s a good chance that’s it’s going to be the same size as your door, or it may be shorter or longer.

2. Buy the type of door sweep you want

The second step is to buy the type of door sweep you want. I listed many different types of door sweeps up above so don’t hesitate to look up there again to look at the different door sweeps.

I listed the best door sweeps I could find, and did all of the research for you so that way you can just choose what you want.

Those are all good door sweeps to buy what I listed above, so any door sweep would do for you. I looked at other people’s opinions of those door sweeps, and everybody seemed very satisfied with the door sweeps.

I’m going to give you the same advice I gave in my last post, do what you think is best.

I don’t know what your likes or dislikes are, but I am confident that you will be satisfied with the door sweeps, and that they will serve you well.

If you somehow don’t like the door sweep, you can always get another door sweep. Like I said before, don’t be afraid to test things you because you never know what you like and don’t like unless you try it.

With that being said, let’s move onto step three which is installing the door sweep on the door you want it installed.

3. Install the door sweep on the door you want it installed

After you measure the door where the door sweep is going to be installed, and you have bought the type of door sweep you want, you can then start to install the door sweep.

It will take a little bit of work, but it is pretty self-explanatory on how to install it.

4. Test it out

The last step is to test the door sweep out. Open and close the door multiple times to see if the door sweep is working properly.

If it is working properly, then it is likely that you have installed the door sweep successfully.

However, If the door is having issues opening and closing with the door sweep on, then it is likely that you have installed it incorrectly, and you need to address it and install it correctly.

Like I said, don’t be afraid to test out different door sweeps, since you may not know what type of door sweep you want.

Conclusion

Installing door sweeps can be difficult, and it is especially difficult if you aren’t sure what type of door sweep you want. However, it is doable and it is quite easy once you know exactly how to do it.I hope you found this post helpful, and good luck on soundproofing!

Soundproof a microwave? 5 things you can do

Soundproofing a microwave can be challenging, especially if the microwave isn’t inside anywhere.  For example, your microwave might be sitting on the counter, or it might be above the stove. I don’t where you have your microwave, but if you want to soundproof your microwave, it is preferred that you have it above your stove. This doesn’t mean you can’t soundproof your microwave that’s sitting on the counter because that is totally possible. In this post, I’m going to reveal five things you can do to soundproof your microwave. Some of the five things will either apply to both the microwave above the stove and the counter, or either one. I’ll mention whether this applies to both, or either one in each option I’ll be presenting to you. Make sure to pay close attention, so you’re abl...

Insulation spray: Does it really work? Installation Guide

Disclosure: I’m a proud affiliate for some of the products mentioned in this post. If you buy a product through my links on this post, I may get a small commission for referring you. Thanks! Insulation spray is another form of insulation, and I personally think it is the best kind of insulation because all you have to do is spray it. Regular insulation in my opinion is just not the best option because it is dangerous to breath in, and it just causes stuff to get all dirty. The thing with the insulation spray is it does the exact opposite. All you have to do is spray it, and then your all done. Now, you may have to clean some of it up after you spray it, but that’s not a big deal, and you can do that fairly quickly since it’s the spray kind. Now the question is, does it really work? And I’m going to be answering that question later on in this post. But first, let’s go over some of the pros and cons of insulation spray. Pros –       ...
