Noise is a big problem anywhere you go. You could be outside or inside. Now, sorry to tell you this, but you can’t place acoustic foam panels outside, they just won’t work.

However, you can place acoustic foam panels on the inside, and in this post, I’m going to reveal the best type of acoustic foam products you can use.

I will also reveal an installation guide to help you install the acoustic foam panels. This guide should help you to avoid hiring a professional by doing this yourself.

It is super easy that literally anyone can do it.

Some people may be confused on how to install acoustic foam panels, and that’s where the installation guide comes in.

Now, without a do, I’m going to reveal the best acoustic foam products down below.

Best type of products & foam panels that really work
Bi color foam panels – Fire resistant

I picked this product first because I feel this is the best product on this list.

Why? Because these foam panels are fire resistant, and they work really well to keep the sound out.

These foam panels are a little thicker than some of the acoustic foam panels I listed below, and you can either place them in your bedroom, office, living room, or wherever room you want to place them in.

These foam panels aren’t hard to install, and it will be worth it in the end to have these installed because

1.       They are fire resistant
2.       They do a good job soundproofing

Those are the two reasons why I believe these are one of the best types of acoustic foam panels, and why you should choose these to soundproof your home. They will make your home a safer place because their fire resistant, and they will soundproof your home.

These foam panels won’t look bad either, they may actually make the room look nicer with the colors and everything that goes with this product.

If forever reason you don’t like it, then you can always take them down. However, I do recommend you have them in case you decide you want them again.

With that being said, if your interesting, you can purchase them now on Amazon by clicking the link below.

Flat soundproofing acoustic foam panels

The flat acoustic foam panels are a great product as well. They are mainly for people who prefer not to have big foam panels a=on their walls, and rather after small flat foam panels instead.

This is perfectly understandable, I know many people would hate to have big acoustic foam panels in any of their rooms, but still want to soundproof their rooms.

If you’re that person, then the flat soundproofing acoustic foam panels are for you. The only downside about flat acoustic foam panels is they’re not fire resistant.

If you want something that’s fire resistant and does a good job soundproofing, pick the product above.

However, this option does just as good a job of soundproofing, and the only thing you’re giving up with this option is fire resistant.

Some upsides with this option include not having foam panels sticking out, and so there not as visible as the bi color foam panels.

They will still be visible, but it may look a little more normal than the bicolor foam panels.

Egg crate foam panels 48 inches by 24 inches

This is a great option for rooms like recording studios, and other rooms that have noise. The egg crate foam panels do a great job absorbing and reducing sounds, and they work really good.

There are not fire resistant, but they will do an excellent job at soundproofing the room. They have an odd shape to them, but it may look nice to you since you may have different taste.

It is best to get the 48 by 24 inches; it is known to be the best quality.

Once you buy the Egg crate foam panels, you want to give them time to expand before installing them.

How long? You’ll want to wait at least a few hours, so they are perfect for installing.

When you purchase them, they will come rolled up which is why you want to give them time to expand and become flat.

If you install them right after your done taking them out of the package, then you will have issues trying to flatten it out which is why I say to wait a few hours before doing so.

You may even want to wait a day or two before installing since it takes a while for this type of foam to expand.

If you’re interested in buying, click the link below and that will take you to the product.
Mutex soundproofing material – alternative to foam

This type of soundproofing material is a great alternative to traditional acoustic foam panels.

Why? Because mutex soundproofing material is thinner, and less noticeable.

This is also good to stick between the microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, or wherever it is you prefer to soundproof. It will also work in your living room, bedroom, office, bathroom, garage, or anywhere really.

This soundproofing material may even work in your car, you just never know until you try it.  You can stick this on your walls too, and while traditional soundproofing foam might ware out over time, this product will not ware out, and it will be good forever.

Now, I’m not saying it will be good forever, but it will last a lot longer than traditional soundproofing acoustic foam.

The mutex soundproofing material is made of carbon-weave, and poly mute resin.

This soundproofing material will work anywhere in your home. It won’t matter where you decide to install it, it will work anywhere.

If you’re interested in buying, click the link below and it will take you right to the product.
Installation Guide – How to install acoustic foam panels

Now you have to be careful when installing acoustic foam panels to your walls, since they can lead to some marks on your walls if you don’t know what you’re doing.
The purpose of this installation guide is to help you install the acoustic foam panels correctly, so you can prevent damage to your walls.

I’m going to give you a step by step guide that will help you install acoustic foam panels correctly.Make sure to follow the guide so you get the best results.

1. Decide on how you want to arrange the acoustic foam panels

The first step is to decide on how you want to arrange the acoustic foam panels.
You have to take this step first because you don’t want to make a mistake when you’re trying to install the acoustic foam panels.

If you somehow don’t like how they look once you install them, then that wouldn’t be good. It is highly recommended that you arrange the acoustic foam panels before installing them, so that way you know how you want them to look.

If you skip this step, then you may regret it later on. I highly recommend you do this step first, and then move onto the other steps.

2. Place the acoustic foam panels on cardboard using adhesive spray

The second step is to place acoustic foam panels on cardboard using adhesive spray. After you place the acoustic foam on the cardboard, let it dry, and then cut off the excess cardboard so the cardboard won’t be visible when you place the acoustic foam panels on the wall.

After you place the acoustic foam panels on cardboard using adhesive spray, and letting in dry afterwards, you can then move onto step three.

3. Use 3M command strips to attach the grouped panels

The third step is to use 3M command strips to attach the grouped panels. This is a great way to place your acoustic foam panels on the walls without causing any damage to the walls, so I recommend you place the acoustic foam panels using this method.

Once you have used 3M command strips to attach the grouped panels, you can now move onto the last step.

4. Monitor the panels to make sure they stay on

The last step is to monitor the panels to make sure they stay on the wall. There’s a ten percent chance that they will fall, and a ninety percent chance that they won’t fall, so the statistics show that their likely not going to fall, so you don’t have to worry about them falling too much.

I recommend you monitor the foam panels for at least a few days, and then you can go about your business without having to worry about it.

Conclusion

Acoustic foam panels are a great product for soundproofing your home, and all of the types of this product are all great options.

My personal favorite is the first product which is the bi color foam panels fire resistant. The reason this is my favorite is because it’s fire resistant, and it does a great job soundproofing the room.

It also looks nice in your room, so anyway that’s my personal favorite. You don’t have to take my word for it, every one of these options are great, and wonderful for soundproofing your home.

Soundproof a microwave? 5 things you can do

Soundproofing a microwave can be challenging, especially if the microwave isn’t inside anywhere.  For example, your microwave might be sitting on the counter, or it might be above the stove. I don’t where you have your microwave, but if you want to soundproof your microwave, it is preferred that you have it above your stove. This doesn’t mean you can’t soundproof your microwave that’s sitting on the counter because that is totally possible. In this post, I’m going to reveal five things you can do to soundproof your microwave. Some of the five things will either apply to both the microwave above the stove and the counter, or either one. I’ll mention whether this applies to both, or either one in each option I’ll be presenting to you. Make sure to pay close attention, so you’re abl...

Insulation spray: Does it really work? Installation Guide

Disclosure: I’m a proud affiliate for some of the products mentioned in this post. If you buy a product through my links on this post, I may get a small commission for referring you. Thanks! Insulation spray is another form of insulation, and I personally think it is the best kind of insulation because all you have to do is spray it. Regular insulation in my opinion is just not the best option because it is dangerous to breath in, and it just causes stuff to get all dirty. The thing with the insulation spray is it does the exact opposite. All you have to do is spray it, and then your all done. Now, you may have to clean some of it up after you spray it, but that’s not a big deal, and you can do that fairly quickly since it’s the spray kind. Now the question is, does it really work? And I’m going to be answering that question later on in this post. But first, let’s go over some of the pros and cons of insulation spray. Pros –       ...
